REVERSE DIAMOND Shown in 1/2" flat reed on
Warp frame front to back until long side is filled. Consider a long side "NORTH".
Find center strand & mark with a twisty tie.
Find center point of each side rail & mark with an ink marker.
Since this pattern is worked in herringbone style,---BUT, in 4 over, 4 under, you might as well work the underside in the same count.
Now, at the very center point of the seat weave ONE CENTERED ROW as follows:
Weave the center warp( only) 1 under. Out from this in both directions, 4 over, 4 under, 4 over, etc. to complete the row, possibly with less than 4 strands on the ends.
The following instructions are for the CENTER COUNT only.
1st row south: 3 under at the center only, then 4 over, 4 under, etc.
2nd row south: 5 under at the center only, then 4 over, 4 under, etc.
3rd row south: 7 under at the center only, then 4 over, 4 under, etc.
4th row south: 1 over at the center only, then 4 under, 4 over, etc.
5th row south: 3 over at the center only, then 4 under, 4 over, etc.
6th row south: 5 over at the center only, then 4 under, 4 over, etc.
7th row south: 7 over at the center only, then 4 under, 4 over, etc.
8th row south: repeat ONE CENTERED ROW
Now weave these 8 rows on the north side of the first ONE CENTERED ROW.
NOTE: Fillers, on the front( left & right if necessary). Match herringbone pattern as you weave in each piece, BUT BE AWARE that a centered 1,3,5,7, formed vertically as you wove. Follow the established pattern.
Repeat Rows 1-8 north & south to finish out your project.
